Quick start

From a catalog ZIP to a bot that answers slash commands in your server. Keep tokens off screenshots and out of git.

1. Create the Discord application

Open the Discord Developer Portal and click New Application.
Open Bot → Reset Token → copy the value. That is DISCORD_TOKEN.
Enable the privileged intents the bot page lists (often Server Members Intent).
OAuth2 → URL Generator: scopes bot and applications.commands. Tick the permissions from the bot README, then invite the URL into your server.

2. Configure the token locally

On a catalog page, choose Configure token. Jason Discord Host V1 writes .env inside the ZIP in your browser. The token is not posted to an app database. Prefer a clean ZIP and edit .env yourself if that feels safer.

3. Run the bot

unzip welcome-bot.zip
cd welcome-bot
npm install
npm start

Set GUILD_ID while testing so slash commands appear immediately. Global commands can take up to an hour.

4. Gemini custom bots

On Create with AI, paste a Gemini key from Google AI Studio. The key is sent only to fulfill that generate request (or you can skip it and use demo mode). Review generated code before you run it — models can hallucinate APIs.

Token hygiene

• Never commit .env or paste tokens into tickets.
• If a token leaks, reset it in the Developer Portal before you do anything else.
• This website does not host your bot 24/7 — you run the Node process where you choose.
